Love Verses in the Bible - Judges

Love is the foremost trait in all of Scripture. Because of Love, God sent His Son Jesus Christ to redeem us from the penalty of our sin through His sacrifice and victory at the cross.  Jesus Christ identified the most important commandments in all of Scripture to be: Love God, Love your neighbor.  Just before His crucifixion, Jesus said: "A new command I give you: Love one another.  As I have loved you, so you must love one another."  Without God, this is simply impossible because "God is Love."

As C.S. Lewis wrote, "In God, there is no hunger that needs to be filled, only plenteousness that desires to give."

Love
  • Judges 5:31
    • "'So may all your enemies perish, O Lord!  But may they who love you be like the sun when it rises in its strengh.'  Then the land had peace forty years."
  • Judges 14:16
    • "Then Samson's wife threw herself on him, sobbing, 'You hate me!  You don't really love me.  You've given my people a riddle, but you haven't told me the answer.'  'I haven't even explained it to my father or mother,' he replied, 'so why should I explain it to you?'"
  • Judges 16:4
    • "Some time later, he fell in love with a woman in the Valley of Sorek whose name was Delilah."
  • Judges 16:15
    • "Then she said to him, 'How can you say, 'I love you,' when you won't confide in me?  This is the third time you have made a fool of me and haven't told me the secret of your great strength.'"
