Love Verses in the Bible - Exodus

Love is the foremost trait in all of Scripture. Because of Love, God sent His Son Jesus Christ to redeem us from the penalty of our sin through His sacrifice and victory at the cross.  Jesus Christ identified the most important commandments in all of Scripture to be: Love God, Love your neighbor.  Just before His crucifixion, Jesus said: "A new command I give you: Love one another.  As I have loved you, so you must love one another."  Without God, this is simply impossible because "God is Love."

As C.S. Lewis wrote, "In God, there is no hunger that needs to be filled, only plenteousness that desires to give."

Love
  • Exodus 15:13
    • "In your unfailing love you will lead the people you have redeemed."
  • Exodus 20:6
    • "but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments."
  • Exodus 21:5
    • "But if the servant declares, 'I love my master and my wife and children and do not want to go free,'"
  • Exodus 34:6
    • "And he passed in front of Moses, proclaiming, 'The Lord, the Lord, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness,'"
  • Exodus 34:7
    • "maintain love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin.  Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished; he punishes the children and their children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation.'"
