Love Verses in the Bible - Nehemiah

Love is the foremost trait in all of Scripture. Because of Love, God sent His Son Jesus Christ to redeem us from the penalty of our sin through His sacrifice and victory at the cross.  Jesus Christ identified the most important commandments in all of Scripture to be: Love God, Love your neighbor.  Just before His crucifixion, Jesus said: "A new command I give you: Love one another.  As I have loved you, so you must love one another."  Without God, this is simply impossible because "God is Love."

As C.S. Lewis wrote, "In God, there is no hunger that needs to be filled, only plenteousness that desires to give."

Love

• Nehemiah 1:5
• "Then I said: 'O Lord, God of heaven, the great and awesome God, who keeps his covenant of love with those who love him and obey his commands,'"
• Nehemiah 9:17
• "They refused to listen and failed to remember the miracles you performed among them.  They became stiff-necked and in their rebellion appointed a leader in order to return to their slavery.  But you are a forgiving God, gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love.  Therefore you did not desert them,'"
• Nehemiah 9:32
• "Now, therefore, O our God, the great, mighty and awesome God, who keeps his covenant of love, do not let all this hardship seem triffling in your eyes -- the hardship that has come upon us, upon our kinds and leaders, upon our priests and prophets, upon our fathers and all your people, from the days of the kings of Assyria until today."
• Nehemiah 13:22
• "Then I commanded the Levites to purify themselves and go and guard the gates in order to keep the Sabbath day holy.  Remember me for this also, O my God, and show mercy to me according to your great love."
