Love Verses in the Bible - Ecclesiastes

Love is the foremost trait in all of Scripture. Because of Love, God sent His Son Jesus Christ to redeem us from the penalty of our sin through His sacrifice and victory at the cross.  Jesus Christ identified the most important commandments in all of Scripture to be: Love God, Love your neighbor.  Just before His crucifixion, Jesus said: "A new command I give you: Love one another.  As I have loved you, so you must love one another."  Without God, this is simply impossible because "God is Love."

As C.S. Lewis wrote, "In God, there is no hunger that needs to be filled, only plenteousness that desires to give."

  • Ecclesiastes 9:1
    • "So I reflected on all this and concluded that the righteous and the wise and what they do are in God's hand, but no man knows whether love or hate awaits him."
  • Ecclesiastes 9:6
    • "Their love, their hate and their jealousy have long since vanished; never again will they have a part in anything that happens under the sun."
  • Ecclesiastes 9:9
    • "Enjoy life with your wife, whom you love, all the days of this meaningless life that God has given you under the sun -- all your meaningless days."
Loves
  • Ecclesiastes 5:10
